Hand Carved Mitt
The featured art is a fully hand carved and hand crafted 1970s McGregor outfielders mitt. I started with a block of pine wood and carefully carved the mitt to size and applied all of the detail and color from that original mitt. This was my actual baseball mitt from the 1970s. The mitt is authentic in detail right down to the laces and stiches. The laces are made from real mitt leather, while the individual stitches and back label are painted in acrylic pigment.
I have a series of baseball mitts on display and for sale. There is another one in the works as we speak. These are expected to show around February 2013, right before Spring Training begins.
